Dr. P.K. PRASADAN M.Sc., Ph.D., Post Doc

He is a member of the Academic Council, Kannur University.  He secured Ph.D. degree in Zoology (with specialization in   Parasitology) from the University of Calicut under the supervision of Prof. K.P. Janardanan.  On a CSIR Research Associateship, P.K. Prasadan carried out Post-doctoral research at the Aqua Lab, Department of Zoology, and Bangalore University under the supervision of Prof. Katre Shakuntala.

He has nine research papers published in leading international journals and one in an Indian journal.  He has communicated four research papers for publication in international journals.

He has presented research papers in national and international seminars.  He has organized several workshops & seminars in the college.  Currently he is engaged in a research project on medicinal plants (funded by CARITAS, New Delhi).  He has submitted a research project proposal  to International Foundation for Science ( IFS-Sweden) for funding and another one to the Dept. of Forests and Wildlife, Govt. of Kerala.  

He is a resource person of:

            a) SCERT, Govt. of  Kerala

            b) OISCA International South Indian Chapter  and

            c) The Dept. of Forests and Wildlife, Govt. of Kerala. 

He is the President of OISCA International (an NGO with consultative status to the United Nations) North Wayanad Chapter and is State Committee member of All Kerala Private College Teachers Association.

The draft syllabus of B.Sc. (Sub) Biological Techniques (Theory and Practicals) and a portion of the theory syllabus of B.Sc. Zoology which he submitted to the Board of Studie of Kannur University as a member of the Syllabus Restructuring Committee of  AKPCTA were accepted for implementation.
