The Department of Computer Science was  started in 1995. The Department has excellent laboratory facilities in the most modern computing environments. At present the lab has LANs with Windows NT and GNU/Linux servers with 30 nodes. The students have round the clock access to these facilities including internet facility.

The department offers a Master's program and a Bachelor's  in  Computer Science under  Kannur University. The courses with their most advanced syllabi provide the students a strong academic foundation to advanced areas in IT studies. The practical component makes the student proficient in programming, enabling them to be competent in the growing software industry. Guest lectures by experts  in IT, seminars, workshops symposia etc. are regular features of the Department programme.

 Mr. Thomas Monoth is the Head Of the Department. He has an M.Sc. degree in Computer Science. Ms Jisha T.E.,Mr Sabu O.J. , Mr Shinoj C.N. and Ms Jisha George  are the other members of the faculty.

 Laboratory

The Department has a well-equipped laboratory that provides round the clock access for the students. The facilities include Internet Proxy Server, Linux Lab, Windows NT LAN, and Novell Netware LAN. Apart from these, the students also benefit from other laboratory structures provided by the University. The laboratory structures of the Department and the University provide the students  full-fledged access to the internet round the clock. The students are thus kept abreast of the latest technologies and developments in IT industry through their constant interaction with relevant sites.
