A
unit of National Cadet Corps consisting of 62 cadets (1 Platoon)
comprising men and women is functioning in the college. This is an
Army wing under 1 (KER) Indep Coy.N.C.C Thalassery. N.C.C. aims at
kindling in students a spirit of discipline and willingness to serve
the country. Through its regular and rigorous training
programmes the NCC provides opportunities for developing
the cadets' physical and
intellectual potential and their readiness to utilize these
resources in times of need. Students who pass the B and C
Certificate examinations
are eligible for exemptions in certain criteria in the selection to commissioned posts in the
Defence Service. Dr. Rajeev Thomas (Lecturer, Dept. of
Chemistry) serves the Associate NCC Officer. |

Col. B.K Nair, Commanding Officer 1(KER) Arty. Bty. NCC Tly.
visited the college. Fr. George Myladoor, Procurator, Diocese of
Mananthavady formally inaugurated the NCC unit of our college
comprising of 40 cadets. |

Achievements

u/o Joseph A.V. and u/o Anwar Sadath A.H. successfully completed
the one-month Thal Sainik Camp, New Delhi, in the year 2000 – 2001.

Joseph A.V. was awarded gold medal in the national-level firing
competition held in this camp. |

2 S/uo Shibu K.S. represented the unit at the 26-day pre-Republic Day
camp at Pangode, Trivandrum.

Three members of our unit attended the 15-day National Trekking Camp
held at Agasthyaqkoodam. |

year (2003-2004) u/o Alexander K.C. was adjudged the best cadet of 1(KER) Indep.Coy.NCC.TLY. |
