M.Sc.  MATHEMATICS

The Department of Mathemathics has been started in 1995.The department offers Master's program in Mathematics under  Kannur University. The course with its most advanced syllabus provides a strong academic foundation, and the practical assignments make the students proficient in programming, enabling them to meet the challenges of the growing software industry. Guest lectures, seminars by experts in Mathematics, workshops and symposia are regular features of the academic programme. The    syllabus    includes   many   advanced

technologies and software in various areas of computing which helps the students to be familiar with frontier areas of research and application in Mathematics industry.

                The M.Sc. course has  a total intake of 20 students. The department conducts regular seminars, workshops etc. for the students in every week. Classes by, and  interaction with, faculty from the Mathematics industry are an integral part of the regular academic programme.

The department offers a well-equipped laboratory that provides round-the-clock access to the students. The facilities include Internet Proxy Server, Linux Lab, Windows NT LAN, and Novell Netware LAN. Apart from these, the students also benefit from other laboratory structures provided by the University. The laboratory structures of the department and the University facilitate full-fledged access to the Internet to the students.  The students are thus kept abreast of the latest technologies and developments in IT industry through  constant interaction with relevant sites.
