About 400 students from various parts of Wayanad  and the neighboring districts study in the five degree courses as well as the PG course offered by the college.  A few students hail from Karnataka and Tamilnadu.

             The basic requirement for admission is a pass in the Higher Secondary Examination or its  equivalent.  The admissions are  based  strictly on   merit according to the norms of  Kannur  University.

          Along with their regular academic work, our students are actively involved in various extracurricular and co-curricular activities. Many of them participate in such activities conducted by the university, local government bodies,   voluntary organisations etc. They are also trained to assume active roles in issues   important to   their socio-cultural matrices.

An emphasis on their social role as responsible citizens is an important aspect of the education at Mary Matha College and it is hoped that our students will grow up as members capable of making positive/constructive contributions to their communities.
